The multiplication of Google databases is a gift of Google’s search engine. Norvig’s speech ascertains the upward movement of the Google technology.

Mr. Peter Norvig, the director of Google search engine reveals in his speech in Semantic Technology Conference the secret of Google’s database multiplication. Mr. Norvig is an author on many books on artificial intelligence and he was also an employee in NASA. Mr. Norvig mentioned the company’s new researches on search engines to improve data classification and attainment of expected search results.

Mr. Norvig explained that the researches are emphasized on enabling word clustering, suggestions, displaying related links, personalize user’s listings and providing maximum relevance to the queries so that users obtain the required search results. He also mentioned of aspiring a broader bandwidth for the same.

Mr. Norvig said that amidst the challenges in recent years he felt it really tough to attain the largest web information. He thought that the Google databases will loose the position if not well catered for new web documents, but on the contrary Google has ample of web index and still have a lot to add from the medias to its search engine.

Mr. Norvig reveals a research project by a Google employee a year back on a classification engine that Google is testing. The engine has the capability to analyze all nouns into different categories in order to extract clustered results. One can search with compound words.

Mr. Norvig declared that this technology would be able to provide answers to factual queries such as “The first president of America.” This tool will enable to access Microsoft’s new addition to its database encyclopedia. Mr. Norvig thanked to its Encarta Software. He said that MSN could miss to provide a desired factual answer to queries. Google on the other hand provides a maximum results with maximum accuracy from a number of semantic web pages.

“Keyhole”, Google’s satellite mapping service was also demonstrated by Mr. Norvig. He concluded saying that the company is going to enhance map services and information on business and places. In the current high tech society, it is very important to provide information on real world.
