One has the right to express his political views. Federal Election Commission finances campaign and is a paid advertisement that has nothing to do with blogging and e-mailing. It should be treated as an effective and cheaper means of communication

The Federal Election Commission has a very distinct view regarding blogging or e-mailing. A report from the Federal Election Commission says we are not in charge of what people say what and to whom. We don’t have any jurisdiction over a citizen of what he speaks or writes either in media or Internet. The FEC is just in business of financing on campaign. Whatever related to FEC is only business.

In fact, the Congress demarcated the jurisdiction over the payment law for communication and campaign of political, public, and advertising according to the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act. FEC also regulates to exempt whatever communication is transmitted over the Internet. There is a high legal tussle over the matter. A judge countered the issue stating as inconsistent with the state law. Hence, it has put the system under legal revision.

What if a paid advertisement on the web is in case coordinated with a campaign? Would the advertisement be considered as in support of the campaign or against the campaign? Here the only thing we bother is the context that is simply a paid advertisement and nothing to do with blogging and e-mails of individuals. The resolution is still an uphill task for the commissioners to finalize. It will be quite mimic for one who claim to apprehend the reference of such advertisements.

In this issue we will also consider the public opinion. The favor should go with the views of the majority. Anything about the issue cannot be finalized without the complete majority of the six commissioners. Hence, the month end will do invitation of public views about what we want to ponder on this issue. Until then any final decision from every ends may not be termed a mature decision.

Everyone should be conscious of their right to express their views in all aspects. This rulemaking process on the other hand could be viewed as a medium of suppressing one’s right to write or express his political views via Internet.

Internet could be an effective tool for the political matters too. For one who believes politics as a power play of money, Internet can act as a cheap means of communication. Here, Internet does a lot good to politics. Internet being a political tool a candidate may not require putting in huge cash to campaigns or advertise in Television. He can easily convey his political message throughout the world in least time and least money.

It will be false to consider Internet just a means to reform political campaign. It is a supporting hand to spread political propaganda and nothing more with politics. One should not go with threats running against the Internet.
